Shashi Tharoor on his latest book ‘Why I am a Hindu’
02/April/2018

Politician and author Shashi Tharoor’s latest book, ‘Why I Am A Hindu’, running close to 300 pages is about one of the world’s oldest religions and precisely the distinction between politics in the name of religion and  faith.

Speaking about his upcoming book ‘Why I Am a Hindu’, Tharoor said, “For me what was troubling about this was that it bore very little resemblance to the Hinduism I had grown up with.”

Worrying trends like lynching and cow vigilantism and ideas like Ghar Waapsi and Love Jihad, and groups like Gau Rakshaks and “Anti Romeo squads” operate and thrive under the aegis of the present BJP government.

“I consider myself as a Hindu and a nationalist but I am not a Hindu nationalist.”
