Member of Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday sought to repulse Bharatiya Janata Party's attack on Rahul's imminent elevation saying 'those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others'.
''Following the democratic process was more important than the number of candidates'', he said here replying to questions by reporters after Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination for the party president's post.
He said,''there are some real questions need to be asked about BJP's inner party democracy.''
Mr Tharoor said that this time the existing Congress leaders have not felt the need to challenge the popular leader in the party as it doesn't look like anybody is coming forward.
''This is the beginning of handing over the torch to the young generation,'' Mr Tharoor said over Rahul's nomination for the post of Congress president.
