(a) & (b) No, madam. There is no proposal to introduce an additional Mainline Electric Multiply Unit (MEMU) train between Kollam and Nagercoil due to operational and resource constraints.
However, at present, Kollam and Nagercoil are connected with a number of trains including 56700/56701 Kollam-Madurai passenger and 66304/66305 Kollam-Kanniyakumari MEMU. Further, Punalur-Kanniyakumari Passenger (daily) via Kollam has been announced in Interim Railway Budget 2014 which will also provide additional connectivity between Kollam and Nagercoil. |
