LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state:-




(a) whether the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has made any assessment of the requirement of skilled manpower in high sectors such as real estate, banking infrastructure etc. by 2022; 

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to meet the shortfall; 

(c) whether the Government proposes to establish more Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the country or is likely to increase the training capacity of the existing ones, considering they can only train 15 lakh candidates; and 

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?


ANSWER

MINISTER OF STATE (IC) FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI BANDARU DATTATREYA) 

(a) & (b): A study has been conducted by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), according to which the incremental requirement of skilled manpower in 21 high growth sectors by the year 2022 is estimated to be 34.7 crores. The detail is enclosed at Annex-I. 

(c) & (d): Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has been entrusted with the implementation of the scheme of establishment of new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
