Will the Minister of



CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:-




(a) whether the Government proposes to constitute Chemical Innovation Council for promoting Research and Development in the chemical industry and develop technology for green chemicals; 

(b) if so, the details thereof; 

(c) whether the Government also proposes to enter into collaborations with other countries such as Germany and Singapore for innovation in the chemical industry and set up large chemical parks like the Jurong in Singapore: and 

(d) if so, the details thereof?

MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (SHRI HANSRAJ GANGARAM AHIR) 

(a)& (b) No Sir, However, Department organizes various seminars/ workshops with important stakeholders and chemical industryassociations for promoting awareness for green chemistry. 

(c) & (d) No Sir, Chemical sector is delicensed and no industrial licence is needed for the establishment of new undertaking of substantial expansion of existing facilities except for few hazardous chemicals. The investment in the chemical sector is done by entrepreneurs in the private sector based on techno economic viability, global demand etc.
