PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS |
be pleased to state:-
|
(a) whether important scientific agencies such as the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advance Scientific Research (JNCASR) and the Indian Institute of Agricultural Research (IIAR) have been operating without a permanent Director General or a head to overlook their functions;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the time period from when each of these posts have been lying vacant;
(c) whether the Government is unable to appoint eminent leaders to replace the previously appointed heads and if so, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether any measures have been taken by the Government to resolve this problem; and
(e) if so, the details thereof including the time period by when the concerned heads/Director Generals are likely to be appointed? |

(a) & (b): At present, the posts of Director General/Head of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR); Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR); Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO); Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advance Scientific Research (JNCASR); and Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) are vacant with effect from the dates shown against each:
