THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO)
(a): The names of 497 cities that are covered under AMRUT have been posted on the website of the Mission (amrut.gov.in). (b): No, Madam. (c): Does not arise. (d): Under the provisions of the Mission, the Ministry of Urban Development does not grant project-wise approvals and approves the State Annual Action Plans, only. Project-wise approvals are granted by the concerned State / Union Territory Governments. The details of the projects selected by the States/Union Territories as approved in the State Annual Action Plans are available on the website of the Mission (amrut.gov.in).
(e)&(f): The Central Government has received several references for inclusion of cities under the Mission from several sources, including Members of Parliament. The Ministry has constituted a Committee to examine the suggestions and requests. Based on the report of the Committee the Ministry of Urban Development has decided to include 15 cities that fulfill the criteria specified in the Mission Guidelines. The list is available on the website of the Mission (amrut.gov.in). |
