ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF SHIPPING
(SHRI PON. RADHAKRISNAN)

(a)to(c):An amount of Rs.29.00 crore was allocated through Government Budgetary support(GBS) for various port projects/schemes of major ports, including the projects of Mormugao Port and Cochin Port, in the BE 2016-17. This allocation has been spent. Request for additional funds has been made in the proposals for RE 2016-17 and BE 2017-18.

(d)&(e):Mormugao port has witnessed an increase in cargo traffic in the last three years as indicated in the table below:
Year Traffic Handled (In MT)
2013-14 11.74
2014-15 14.71
2015-16 20.77
2016-17(upto October,2016) 15.41

The existing capacity of Mormugao Port is 48.79 MTPA which is adequate to handle the potential increase in traffic at the port.
