Shashi Tharoor seconds resumption of Indo-Pak series, questions why should sport bear burden of diplomacy

Politician Shashi Tharoor, popular for his Twitter banters, never refrains from commenting on any current affairs, be it of any domain. The Congress MP expressed his opinion on the resumption of India-Pakistanbi-lateral series while being one of the panellists besides the likes of senior journalists Rajdeep Sardesai, Nalin Mehta and former Indian cricketer Bishen Singh Bedi at the Times Lit Fest.

The 61-year-old diplomat is of the opinion, "What we have seen is that the National Security Advisers of both countries have met in Bangkok. Our Prime Minister met with theirs in Ufa, then the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) went to Lahore and participated in a wedding, a birthday party and so on. So if all that can happen, why can't we play cricket."
