22/December/2017

Shashi Tharoor (Congress leader) few days he stressed on the state of female literacy count in Rajasthan in the middle of rampant protests against the movie release of the Bhansali’s magnum opus named ‘Padmavati’. The MP from the state of Kerala took to the help of the social medium twitter and stated that learning for women in Rajasthan (India) was more significant than “goonghat”, as state’s women literacy rate was among the lowest count in the country.

Agree completely. The #Padmavati disagreement is an opening to focus on the conditions of Rajasthani females today and not just about a queens who belonged six centuries ago. Rajasthan’s female literacy rate is considered to be the lowest. Education and learning is more significant than goonghats.” Tharoor tweeted on Twitter. Shashi Tharoor had given out one more tweet to explain a misunderstanding as the auto correction element in his tool had automatically autocorrected the particular word from ‘Goonghats’ to ‘thang Hoog caps’.

The Rajput society, the Bajrang Dal, and the Sena Karni held a joint objection not in favor for the showcasing of the movie in Surat last few days back. “The government has to put a ban on the release of the movie due it is portraying of the queen Rani Padmavati in an obnoxious way. The history has been imprecise in this movie. The government has to pay attention to us or else everyone will have to pay cost for this. We will not abide disrespect to our society,” a protestor stated in Surat.

In the meantime, in Maharashtra around 12 to 15 members of the Akhand Rajputana Seva were in custody for protesting on few days back. Earlier, the Supreme Court discarded a petition filed against the release of the movie ‘Padmavati’, he stated that the (CBFC) Central Board of Film Certification was yet to pass out a certificate to the film. The top court had also stated that the CBFC was a self-regulating body and the court should not interfere in their authority.

The historical drama, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor, are facing a lot of protests from different Hindu groups for supposedly tampering with chronological facts. The Karni Sena, which pulled down the sets of the film in the pink city of Jaipur and also flayed Bhansali, had yet again warned the Mr.Bhansali that he would face severe consequences if the film distorted chronological facts.
