MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR CULTURE & TOURISM
(DR. MAHESH SHARMA )

(a) Yes, the Government is considering implementing the recommendations of the Consultative Committee partially on the working of Public Records Rules, 1997.

(b) On deciding upon the recommendations of the Consultative Committee, it was felt that there was no need to make any amendment in the Public Records Act, 1993 at this stage. However, the Rules under Act may be reviewed and changes, if any, may be proposed. Accordingly, a committee has been constituted for the amendments of the Public Records Rules, 1997.

(c) Not applicable in view of (b) above.

(d) & (e) The information is being collected and the same will be laid on the Table of the House.
