HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-




(a) whether the Government has conducted any study on the optimal size and population of the States, with regard to their administrative viability; 

(b) if so, the details thereof; 

(c) whether the Government has any proposal to constitute States` Reorganisation Commission to examine the criteria for rationalising the size and population of the States; and 

(d) if so, the details thereof?


ANSWER

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI JITENDRA SINGH) 

(a): No Madam; the Government has not conducted any study on the optimal size and population of the States with regard to their administrative viability. 

(b): Question does not arise. 

(c): The Government at this point of time is not considering constitution of the States’ Reorganization Commission. 

(d): Question does not arise.
