be pleased to state:-

(a) the status of the pilot sites selected for remediation under the Capacity Building for Industrial Pollution Management Project (CBIPM);
(b) the details of funds released and utilized from the sanctioned USD 75.39 million under the CBIPM;
(c) whether a Project Oversight Committee has been constituted for approving the national level plan and strategy and if so, the number of meetings held by the Committee since the initiation of the project in 2010; and
(d) the details and status of development of the National Programme for the Rehabilitation of Polluted sites? |

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR ENVIRONMENT, FORESTS AND CLIMATE CHANGE (SHRI PRAKASH JAVADEKAR)
(a) The procurement of works contract for remediation work at Noor Mohammad Kunta Lake hazardous waste site in Telangana, and Closure and Containment of Dhapa Municipal Solid Waste site in West Bengal has been listed for rebidding. Closure and Containment of Kadapa Municipal Solid Waste site in Andhra Pradesh has been awarded. Remediation Action Plan for Hooghly hazardous waste site in West Bengal has been approved by Technical Expert Panel of the Ministry.
(b) The details of funds released and utilized under the CBIPMP are as under:

(c) The Project Oversight Committee has been constituted under the project and one meeting of the committee has been held on 13.09.2012.
(d) Under the CBIPM Project, National Programme for Rehabilitation of Polluted Sites (NPRPS) is being envisaged as Policy framework encompassing legal, institutional and financial components for remediation of hazardous waste site. The NPRPS is under finalisation. |
