ANSWER
MINSTER OF STATE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE & EMPOWERMENT
(SHRI KRISHANPAL GURJAR)

(a) & (b) The scheme of Pre-matric and Post-matric scholarship for persons with disabilities has been launched in the year 2014-15. The Pre-matric scholarship is for class IX and X and the Parental income ceiling for eligible beneficiaries is Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum. As per the scheme, 46000 scholarships can be granted every year.
The Post-matric scholarship scheme is for class XI, XII to Post Graduate degree/diploma level. Parental income ceiling for eligible beneficiaries is Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum. Under this scheme there is a provision of scholarship, book grant, tuition fees, disability allowances etc.
During 2014-15, the scheme was implemented through the State Governments. From the year 2015-16, the scheme is being implemented through the National e-scholarship portal (www.scholarships.gov.in)
(c) to (f) Since these schemes have been launched in 2014-15 only and there are inadequate number of eligible applications under both the schemes, hence, there is no proposal to increase the number of such scholarships.
